After earning his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Brigham Young University, Steven was accepted to Gonzaga Law School, where he distinguished himself as an editor of the Gonzaga Law Review. He graduated in 1996 with his Juris Doctor and quickly began building a career focused on advocating for injured individuals. Following Gonzaga law school, Steve made the intentional decision to dedicate his professional career and practice to personal injury law in Utah, where he has handled a wide range of cases including wrongful death claims, car and motorcycle accidents, boating incidents, slip-and-fall injuries, dog bite claims, and cases involving dangerous drugs and defective medical devices. His depth of experience across these areas allows him to approach each case with both strategic insight and a strong understanding of the challenges his clients face.
Outside of his legal work, Steve is a highly active and engaged member of his community. One of his greatest passions is education, particularly supporting disadvantaged children and families. He played a key role in helping the Provo School District develop and implement a program designed to assist struggling elementary and high school students, as well as their parents. As part of this effort, Steve volunteered as a judge in Truancy Court for four years, working closely with families to encourage accountability and long-term success for students.
In his personal life, Steve is deeply involved in his own children’s school and extracurricular activities, especially their sports. He has also dedicated several years to volunteering as a Boy Scout adviser, mentoring young people and helping them build confidence and life skills. When he’s not working or volunteering, Steve enjoys spending time being outside with his family. His favorite activities include hiking, boating, hunting, and riding four-wheelers and side-by-sides. Steve loves anything that allows him to enjoy nature and stay active.
