Karolina Southard


In 2008, Kara graduated magna cum laude from the University of Denver in Public Policy and International Studies. She then obtained a Masters degree in Public Policy from the University of Denver in 2009 and moved to Spokane, WA to pursue her law degree. Kara graduated cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2012.

Kara began her legal career in Denver, CO specializing in mass tort litigation and worked on the Yaz/Yasmin birth control litigation. Kara met her husband in Denver and the two of them relocated to Salt Lake City, UT where Kara joined the Advocates in April 2015. While at the Advocates, she has continued her career in mass tort litigation involving defective pharmaceutical and medical products. Her current litigation includes transvaginal mesh, Xarelto/Pradaxa, and inferior vena cava filters. 
In her spare time Kara enjoys sharing meals with friends, the sounds of a great country music playlist, spending time with her two Shiba Inus and spunky Border Collie, traveling to Europe to visit family, and seeking adventure in the great outdoors with her husband.
