The Advocates – Giving Back to the CommunityMatthew Driggs / 0 Comments /
In a continuing effort to give back to the community we live and work in, the Advocates have stepped in again, this time offering the long term patients at South Davis Community Hospital the opportunity to experience the joy of giving gifts to their loved ones this holiday season.
Patients will now be given a chance to select complimentary gifts donated for the Annual Christmas Shopping Mall that is located in the patient’s day room, allowing them to give family and friends when they visit the hospital. In previous years, the hospital had held book fairs and bake sales in attempt to allocate the funds necessary to provide this nicety to the patients at SDHC, but in 2012 and 2013 The Advocates at Driggs, Bills & Day donated the funds to cover the patient gifts.
The patients at SDCH have long-term, permanent injuries that require constant medical care that prevents them from leaving the hospital; SDCH is their permanent home. The Advocates at Driggs, Bills & Day often work with individuals and families that have experienced major injuries, spurring the desire to improve the holidays for these patients.
South Davis Community Hospital is a nonprofit organization, specializing in patients who require intensive, long term, and specialized care.
The families of children and adults of all ages find the support they need to care for their loved ones that require this type of care.
The Advocates have continued to sponsor drives and make donations to help raise money to accommodate the patients of SDHC. Their work with the South Davis Community Hospital include the Patient Room Make-over, Cruise 4 Kids, Halloween Candy Drive and again this year the annual Christmas Shopping Mall.
